Check!!! Another thing we can cross off our list! Now we are waiting for Article 5 to be signed. Then....drumroll............. TA!! At that point we are going to be able to nail down travel dates and book flights!! Its almost here FINALLY!!!
We are requesting that we are given permission for me to pick Laila up from Philip Hayden Foundation (near Beijing). This is where she has lived since 2005. If not, she will have to travel back to her home Province, Qinghai. I really want to meet her on her familiar territory. The orphanage she is from originally is in Xining, China and the altitude is pushing close to a level that causes altitude sickness. With Laila's heart condition I will be very worried for her to travel there and spend a long period of time. We will find out after TA what the plan will be. If your curious this is a map of China and you can see Qinghai Province next to Tibet.

Our trip will start in Beijing and then we will go to Xining in Qinghai for about 5 days. Then our last stop in China is Guangzhou (In Guangdong Province near Hong Kong). This is where the US Consulate is located. In Guangzhou, Laila will have to be given her vaccines and be checked for TB. There is also an oath ceremony that will take place. When we leave Guangzhou and land on American Soil she will be an American Citizen. :)
I am so glad that Katie will be going with me. Jarrod & Krissy will be staying home. The plan is when we return we have to take Laila to Tx Children's within 2 days to be evaluated. At that point they will decide how soon she needs surgery. Pray for Laila. We would love to have some time to bond with her as a family before surgery, but we trust the drs at TXCH to make the best decision.
I decided to allow our blog to be public for this part of our journey. If you had asked to be on the list to view the blog you shouldnt have to log in everytime.
